Reflection on Argumentative Project

I really enjoyed doing this project. I did not think that I could learn even more about the topic of e-commerce but I did in fact learn more. I wrote this web arguement for people who may consider going into buiness after college. If so, I am trying to convince them through logical arguements and just presenting them with good facts and evidence. The reason I wrote this was so that people can further understand the business of e-commerce and its advantages over tradtional commodity buiness. I made a kind of basic design and really focused on my content on this project. I had this project really organized both the design aspect and the way I went about putting it together. I am most proud of the hard work that I put forth in gathering my sources and all evidence. All of my sources are very valid and credible. If I would have had more time I might have made my web pages have more color and maybe a different design. I dont know, I kind of like the way they look though.
There are both negative and posative aspects to using e-commerce. The posative aspects of e-commerce definately outwiegh the negative aspects. Some posative aspects that I learned about is just the cost. The cost is so much less than trying to run or own a store front. You can sell goods world wide to people of all cultures using e-commerce. The only setback to e-commerce is that you are aware of the costs of the business by you never really can predict the benefits. There are people out there that watch the marklet online to try and figure out what to sell, but it is not a promising practice. This project was definately a good final project for me, and I am very happy with the way everything played out.

Web Arguement

I am doing my web arguement on e-commerce. How has E-Commerce affected the traditional way of business prior to its presence? I think that e-com has greatly helped out a lot of business's acrossed the world. They are able to sell a lot of products faster. They can even sell their services over the internet. Any company, and products, and services can be sold over the internet. There is a market avaliable for everyone online. Any products that people either want or need are bought over the internet. It is a great place to do buinsess and it is very cost efficent. How much does it cost to lease a store front and try and run a store out of it? And, what happens if you don't sell your products or services? Then you go out of business and lose money. Now on the otherhand, how much does it cost to run a type of ecommerce business? Not very much.

My Most Recent Argument

The most recent argument that I had was with a friend of mine. He didn't have any money and was asking me to spot him some cash. I was asking him why this always happens when he has a full time job making more money then I did. He told me that he has money but he already used his debit card more than three times today. I was like so what? Use your card again. He told me that all debit cards will not work after using them three times in twenty four hours. I told him that he was wrong because sometimes I use mine more than ten times in a day. He was telling me that I was crazy that no company allows a card to use more than three purchases in a twenty four hour period. So, to settle the argument me and him went to four gas stations and I made small purchases at each one. After I made a purchase at the third one, the fourth purchase still worked. So, I proved that I was right. The funny thing was, like a day later he challanged me again with a similar situation. We were talking about like bailing someone out of jail and he said he would just go pull 500 bucks out of the atm and I always thought you can only take out 300 dollars a day. I guess we will have to settle that one soon.

Reflection on Multimodal

This blog is to talk about what I have done on my multimodal webpage. I enjoyed doing this project because I have learned alot about buying and selling things online. I have learned through this research that most people out there prefer to buy things on the computer rather than going to a store. The market of the internet is a multi billion dollar industry. Some people take advantage of this market and are able to make a living from their home computer. Other people that buy things also take advantage of this technology. Those people go online and find the best deal or that certain product that they couldnt find anywhere else. I think that I had a lot of good current, and reliable sources for this project. Most of my sources were journal articles, and I only used one webpage. This topic that I choose is probably pretty interesting to whoever reads it. It is about using the technology of the internet, and whoever is reading this article is also using the technology of the internet. I think that I had more time on this project to get more things accomplished then I did on the last hypertext essay. They hypertext essay was a good introduction into starting this project but, this time we had a little more time for the desgin aspects of the page. I think my pages look much nicer because of the extra time I was able to spend on DreamWeaver, and I am much happier with this Multimodal project.

Hypertext Essay

I did my Hypertext Essay on the article The Pschology of Cyberspace by Storm A. King. The article has a lot of ideas about why people go online and what they do. It also analyzes why some people choose to be more active in participating in online communication. I enjoyed the article and think that I got a lot out of it. Although I am still in the process of doing my hypertext essay I think that I have good information put into it. Also, I already did a peer review on a classmates essay and was very impressed. I have had fun doing this assigment as well. I think that it's cool how you have a constant loop on your page. You click one thing and it takes you somewhere else, you click another thing and it takes you some where else. One thing I believe that is important when you are making any kind of webpage is that your page is creative. I think that draws in more attention, even than some one who has a really in depth, intelligent essay.

Technology

There are thousands if not millions of types of technology out there today. A good portion of them have impacted my life. Everyday the computer impacts my life. If the computer was not invented then I would feel lost. I do alot of my stuff on computers. I manage my bank account, pay bills, and check news all on the computer. My computer is used to do almost all of my homework as well. Another technology that impacts my life is the automobile. I use my car everyday and could not imagine not having a car. The safety features that it has also an important technological advancement in society. The last thing that I am going to talk about that plays a large part in my life is the cell phone. I use my cell phone every day and feel naked without it. Not only do I call people on it but its a way that I can surf the web and commuicate with people via text messaging. If all of those technologies that I listed were taken away from me I do not know if I would be able to function. Well, I think I would manage but it would take a lot of getting used to.
